ISML 2010 Ruby Period — Round 7

Oh mah gash, it's another post! Yes, I got to vote in the final round of the Ruby Period, and I'm pretty excited because Shana may win her THIRD (count em: three) necklace. But there's another reason why I'm excited for this round. If you were following the results of the Ruby Period, you'll see that there has been someone that has jumped up to the top that normally isn't in the top of the rankings...

Find her yet? If you haven't, you must be living under a rock.

Fiiiiine, I'll tell you. Miss Sanzen'in Nagi has gone UNDEFEATED so far this Period, placing her at a peak of 2nd place in any Period in this entire season! And in this final round, she has a chance to overcome her final obstacle - Izumi Konata. Personally, I think Nagi has a better chance to beat Konata this round and go undefeated, and possibly win this necklace, but Shana vs Hinagiku is probably going to be one of the deciding matches, if not THE deciding match.

Hinagiku is the Ruby necklace defender and since people know she is the holder of the Ruby necklace will probably mean that people will support Hinagiku. They also may vote for Hinagiku to prevent Shana from getting her third necklace (in a row) in the season. Shana suffered a defeat to Hinagiku earlier this season, so this may be Shana's chance to show that she has a chance to take the Tiara and stop a Hinagiku repeat.

Well enough of my mediocre analysis of the match ups. Difficult match ups for me to vote on... Probably the exhibition match between Reimu and Sakuya. I LOOOOOOVE them both! Reimu is a shrine maiden, and Sakuya is a knife-throwing maid. Both very cute gals, so hard to choose! But you'll see who I voted for. Here are my votes:

ARENA 01: [Furukawa Nagisa] Illyasviel von Einzbern

ARENA 02: Ikaros [Hiiragi Tsukasa]

ARENA 03: Akiyama Mio [Aisaka Taiga]

ARENA 04: Suzumiya Haruhi [Holo]

ARENA 05: Nakano Azusa [Senjōgahara Hitagi]

ARENA 06: [Akaba Chizuru] Kawashima Ami

ARENA 15: Fujibayashi Kyō [Nagato Yuki]

ARENA 16: [Saten Ruiko] Hirasawa Ui

ARENA 17: [Saginomiya Isumi] C.C.

ARENA 18: [Louise Vallière] Fujibayashi Ryō

ARENA 19: [Sanzen'in Nagi] Izumi Konata

ARENA 21: [Sakagami Tomoyo] Hirasawa Yui

ARENA 22: [Shana] Katsura Hinagiku

ARENA 24: Minami Chiaki [Furude Hanyū]

ARENA 25: [Hiiragi Kagami] Tōsaka Rin

ARENA 26: Hakurei Reimu [Izayoi Sakuya]

To be honest, I'd love a Shana necklace threepeat, heck even a Nagi upset would be awesome!! But it's in the voters' hands now. Have a wonderful day/night. =]

Just a quick little update...

In case you were wondering about the lack of posts, it's because I've been out of town with some relatives for the last 3 weeks... or been busy playing LittleBigPlanet, Borderlands, or Super Street Fighter IV on the PS3... or playing Urban Rivals....

What else have I been up to aside from playing games... Well, I did finish Eve no Jikan and Angel Beats! I loved the stories of both of them! I'm not one for reviewing anime, never really cared, and I'm not really a good judge or anything! I mean, check out my anime list. I have nothing below an 8! ^_^' Guess that may not be a good trait of mine, but hey, I like watching anime, and don't really want to be a critic of it. Anime should just be enjoyed, not judged harshly... unless I too think it's garbage. =P

Anyways, to close off, I'm sorry for the lack of posts, but when it comes to loved ones, always gotta put them first; you might not know when they'll disappear.

If you haven't watched them yet, I suggest you do so now. =]

ISML 2010 Emerald Period, Round 4 - Results

MAN, I should've payed more attention to the upcoming matches before thinking Nadeko and Azusa would've had a chance. Well technically, Azusa actually held her own against Shana, of all people (2362 vs 2574, in favor of Shana), but Nadeko went up against Yuki, which I think is a pretty hard person to go up against. (2863 vs 1968, Yuki's win)

After Round 4 voting, the top 7 that have almost always been up in the top 10 come back again: Mikoto, yet again, remains at 1st place, staying a step ahead of Shana, who is now second. Mio steps up as well, stealing third. Yuki skips 5 places to 4th place with almost 3000 votes this round, and Saber jumps 5 places as well to 5th place, getting ~2700 votes while up against Konata. Taiga also crept her way up to 6th place, after starting at 23rd in the 1st round, leaping to 10th in the 2nd, and taking 7th in the 3rd round.

Hinagiku has fallen to 7th place, after hitting a peak of 4th place in this Emerald Period. This makes me wonder, once again, is her popularity finally dropping or are people just not willing to vote for her in her match ups? Or is this just some sort of plot for her to remain in the top 16 so that she can claim the Tiara? Hinagiku has YET to claim a necklace in this year's ISML, but seeing Yuki and Saber climb up 5 ranks while she drops makes me doubtful that she will get the Emerald necklace.

Well, that's all for ISML coverage for now. Hopefully I can place my votes up for tomorrow's round, but we'll see.

ISML 2010 Emerald Period, Round 3 Analyzing

So I haven't been voting. I feel really bad. It's pretty sad actually. But around the time I started this post, I did check the results so far... and something caught my eye.

Sengoku Nadeko is in...

SECOND. PLACE.

Wait, whaaaat?! Yes, Nadeko is in 2nd place as of the end of Round 3! She is currently UNDEFEATED at this moment. She went from 10th place in Round 1, jumped 8 places in the second round by narrowly defeating Konata, and is still holding 2nd place after Round 3, right after Mikoto, who is now breathing a sigh of relief as she takes place at the top again after a crummy time in the Sapphire Period. The holder of the Emerald Necklace from 2009 happens to be Suiseiseki, a character that didn't make it into the Final 50 from prelims. 2008 holder was Kagami Hiragi, but personally, I don't see her coming from 12th place this year to take the necklace back.

There are 2 people in the top 10 of the Emerald Period that have caught my eye and may make a few surprising upsets this Period: Sengoku Nadeko and Nakano Azusa. Nadeko obviously because she is in 2nd place, and could possibly grab a necklace out of the hands of Mikoto. As for Azusa, she placed a close 3rd place in the Sapphire Period, and throughout the whole Sapphire Period, she NEVER dropped out of the top 5. That is an amazing feat, and so far, she is showing the same exact pattern this period. If she keeps this up, she may snatch up the necklace as well!

I can't wait to see what these two ladies will do this period. It's just as exciting as the USA vs Slovenia World Cup game. Man that was nerve racking! But hey, they tied; all USA needs is a win to move up. And all Nadeko and Azusa need are wins, wins, wins, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, they can get the Emerald Necklace.

ISML 2010 Sapphire Period Results

So you may have noticed that I didn't vote AT ALL in the Sapphire Period for the International Saimoe League, mostly because my main computer has been knocked out by a Blue Screen of Death problem whenever I try to do something on it. I am probably going to... no, that's not right. I need to reformat that computer if I plan to use it until I get my laptop for college (YAY MY OWN LAPTOP FINALLY). Gonna replace the 5 year old ancient machine that I've been working with for forever.

Anyways, I'm proud to announce that the winner of the Sapphire Period is, in fact, the previous necklace holder, one of my favorites gals in anime...

...Shana! She had a bit of a slow start, hitting 7th in the first round, but quickly gained momentum as she rose to 2nd place right in the second round, and held that position up until the fifth round, where she ascended to 1st place, and fiercely stood her ground until the last round, winning ALL 7 rounds in this Sapphire Period, successfully defending her Sapphire Necklace. She received about 2700+ votes in every match up she was in this entire period, going up against a severely weakened Misaka Mikoto in the final round, who never broke the top 5 during the entire period. Has Mikoto finally losing her popularity amongst the voters? Or will she make a comeback and earn herself her first necklace and possibly the Tiara this year?
