ISML 2010 Ruby Period — Round 7

Oh mah gash, it's another post! Yes, I got to vote in the final round of the Ruby Period, and I'm pretty excited because Shana may win her THIRD (count em: three) necklace. But there's another reason why I'm excited for this round. If you were following the results of the Ruby Period, you'll see that there has been someone that has jumped up to the top that normally isn't in the top of the rankings...

Find her yet? If you haven't, you must be living under a rock.

Fiiiiine, I'll tell you. Miss Sanzen'in Nagi has gone UNDEFEATED so far this Period, placing her at a peak of 2nd place in any Period in this entire season! And in this final round, she has a chance to overcome her final obstacle - Izumi Konata. Personally, I think Nagi has a better chance to beat Konata this round and go undefeated, and possibly win this necklace, but Shana vs Hinagiku is probably going to be one of the deciding matches, if not THE deciding match.

Hinagiku is the Ruby necklace defender and since people know she is the holder of the Ruby necklace will probably mean that people will support Hinagiku. They also may vote for Hinagiku to prevent Shana from getting her third necklace (in a row) in the season. Shana suffered a defeat to Hinagiku earlier this season, so this may be Shana's chance to show that she has a chance to take the Tiara and stop a Hinagiku repeat.

Well enough of my mediocre analysis of the match ups. Difficult match ups for me to vote on... Probably the exhibition match between Reimu and Sakuya. I LOOOOOOVE them both! Reimu is a shrine maiden, and Sakuya is a knife-throwing maid. Both very cute gals, so hard to choose! But you'll see who I voted for. Here are my votes:

ARENA 01: [Furukawa Nagisa] Illyasviel von Einzbern

ARENA 02: Ikaros [Hiiragi Tsukasa]

ARENA 03: Akiyama Mio [Aisaka Taiga]

ARENA 04: Suzumiya Haruhi [Holo]

ARENA 05: Nakano Azusa [Senjōgahara Hitagi]

ARENA 06: [Akaba Chizuru] Kawashima Ami

ARENA 07: Nymph [Konjiki no Yami]

ARENA 08: Asahina Mikuru [Takamachi Nanoha]

ARENA 09: [Shiina Minatsu] Ibuki Fūko

ARENA 10: Okazaki Ushio [Fukuji Mihoko]

ARENA 11: Sunohara Mei [Haramura Nodoka]

ARENA 12: [Sengoku Nadeko] Fate Testarossa

ARENA 13: Sakurano Kurimu [Shiina Mafuyu]

ARENA 14: [Saber] Misaka Mikoto

ARENA 15: Fujibayashi Kyō [Nagato Yuki]

ARENA 16: [Saten Ruiko] Hirasawa Ui

ARENA 17: [Saginomiya Isumi] C.C.

ARENA 18: [Louise Vallière] Fujibayashi Ryō

ARENA 19: [Sanzen'in Nagi] Izumi Konata

ARENA 20: Furude Rika [Maria]

ARENA 21: [Sakagami Tomoyo] Hirasawa Yui

ARENA 22: [Shana] Katsura Hinagiku

ARENA 23: Kushieda Minori [Ichinose Kotomi]

ARENA 24: Minami Chiaki [Furude Hanyū]

ARENA 25: [Hiiragi Kagami] Tōsaka Rin

ARENA 26: Hakurei Reimu [Izayoi Sakuya]

To be honest, I'd love a Shana necklace threepeat, heck even a Nagi upset would be awesome!! But it's in the voters' hands now. Have a wonderful day/night. =]

Just a quick little update...

In case you were wondering about the lack of posts, it's because I've been out of town with some relatives for the last 3 weeks... or been busy playing LittleBigPlanet, Borderlands, or Super Street Fighter IV on the PS3... or playing Urban Rivals....

What else have I been up to aside from playing games... Well, I did finish Eve no Jikan and Angel Beats! I loved the stories of both of them! I'm not one for reviewing anime, never really cared, and I'm not really a good judge or anything! I mean, check out my anime list. I have nothing below an 8! ^_^' Guess that may not be a good trait of mine, but hey, I like watching anime, and don't really want to be a critic of it. Anime should just be enjoyed, not judged harshly... unless I too think it's garbage. =P

Anyways, to close off, I'm sorry for the lack of posts, but when it comes to loved ones, always gotta put them first; you might not know when they'll disappear.

If you haven't watched them yet, I suggest you do so now. =]

ISML 2010 Emerald Period, Round 4 - Results

MAN, I should've payed more attention to the upcoming matches before thinking Nadeko and Azusa would've had a chance. Well technically, Azusa actually held her own against Shana, of all people (2362 vs 2574, in favor of Shana), but Nadeko went up against Yuki, which I think is a pretty hard person to go up against. (2863 vs 1968, Yuki's win)

After Round 4 voting, the top 7 that have almost always been up in the top 10 come back again: Mikoto, yet again, remains at 1st place, staying a step ahead of Shana, who is now second. Mio steps up as well, stealing third. Yuki skips 5 places to 4th place with almost 3000 votes this round, and Saber jumps 5 places as well to 5th place, getting ~2700 votes while up against Konata. Taiga also crept her way up to 6th place, after starting at 23rd in the 1st round, leaping to 10th in the 2nd, and taking 7th in the 3rd round.

Hinagiku has fallen to 7th place, after hitting a peak of 4th place in this Emerald Period. This makes me wonder, once again, is her popularity finally dropping or are people just not willing to vote for her in her match ups? Or is this just some sort of plot for her to remain in the top 16 so that she can claim the Tiara? Hinagiku has YET to claim a necklace in this year's ISML, but seeing Yuki and Saber climb up 5 ranks while she drops makes me doubtful that she will get the Emerald necklace.

Well, that's all for ISML coverage for now. Hopefully I can place my votes up for tomorrow's round, but we'll see.

ISML 2010 Emerald Period, Round 3 Analyzing

So I haven't been voting. I feel really bad. It's pretty sad actually. But around the time I started this post, I did check the results so far... and something caught my eye.

Sengoku Nadeko is in...

SECOND. PLACE.

Wait, whaaaat?! Yes, Nadeko is in 2nd place as of the end of Round 3! She is currently UNDEFEATED at this moment. She went from 10th place in Round 1, jumped 8 places in the second round by narrowly defeating Konata, and is still holding 2nd place after Round 3, right after Mikoto, who is now breathing a sigh of relief as she takes place at the top again after a crummy time in the Sapphire Period. The holder of the Emerald Necklace from 2009 happens to be Suiseiseki, a character that didn't make it into the Final 50 from prelims. 2008 holder was Kagami Hiragi, but personally, I don't see her coming from 12th place this year to take the necklace back.

There are 2 people in the top 10 of the Emerald Period that have caught my eye and may make a few surprising upsets this Period: Sengoku Nadeko and Nakano Azusa. Nadeko obviously because she is in 2nd place, and could possibly grab a necklace out of the hands of Mikoto. As for Azusa, she placed a close 3rd place in the Sapphire Period, and throughout the whole Sapphire Period, she NEVER dropped out of the top 5. That is an amazing feat, and so far, she is showing the same exact pattern this period. If she keeps this up, she may snatch up the necklace as well!

I can't wait to see what these two ladies will do this period. It's just as exciting as the USA vs Slovenia World Cup game. Man that was nerve racking! But hey, they tied; all USA needs is a win to move up. And all Nadeko and Azusa need are wins, wins, wins, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, they can get the Emerald Necklace.

ISML 2010 Sapphire Period Results

So you may have noticed that I didn't vote AT ALL in the Sapphire Period for the International Saimoe League, mostly because my main computer has been knocked out by a Blue Screen of Death problem whenever I try to do something on it. I am probably going to... no, that's not right. I need to reformat that computer if I plan to use it until I get my laptop for college (YAY MY OWN LAPTOP FINALLY). Gonna replace the 5 year old ancient machine that I've been working with for forever.

Anyways, I'm proud to announce that the winner of the Sapphire Period is, in fact, the previous necklace holder, one of my favorites gals in anime...

...Shana! She had a bit of a slow start, hitting 7th in the first round, but quickly gained momentum as she rose to 2nd place right in the second round, and held that position up until the fifth round, where she ascended to 1st place, and fiercely stood her ground until the last round, winning ALL 7 rounds in this Sapphire Period, successfully defending her Sapphire Necklace. She received about 2700+ votes in every match up she was in this entire period, going up against a severely weakened Misaka Mikoto in the final round, who never broke the top 5 during the entire period. Has Mikoto finally losing her popularity amongst the voters? Or will she make a comeback and earn herself her first necklace and possibly the Tiara this year?

Prom night!

So last Saturday I had my Senior Prom over at the Fairmont Hotel; really fancy place, apparently when officials from other countries like Russia or Germany come over to San Francisco, they stay at that hotel.

Anyways, it was really fun, lasted for close to 5 hours. Sadly the dancing ended a lot sooner than my friends expected, and the teachers were in a rush to get us all out of the ballroom and home since it was midnight when we ended.

But the party didn't stop there.

After dancing the night away, 8 or so of us, including me, went bowling. You're probably thinking, "Bowling at midnight? No way." Yes way. So glad we have bowling alleys open past midnight on Saturday. Apparently there was a competition for who won each game. I came in uh... let's check the pictures! xD

Well I came in third here... (101)

And I got first here! (107)

I actually remember winning the second game, didn't remember that I got third the first game. I had a lame 7/10 split on the last frame. Lame pins are LAME. I find it amazing how I broke 100 both times. It's been like 2 years since I've last bowled, and I don't remember consistently breaking 100 when bowled like crazy those 2 years ago.

After bowling, which ended at like 3 AM or so (YES 3 AM), we all went to Denny's to grab a bite. If you want absurd conversations, go to a restaurant with me and my friends at 3 AM in the morning. We talked about random stuff because we were so out of it! Sadly I can hardly remember what funny stuff we talked about, but I know we were laughing hard because I remember not being able to eat for a while. I eventually slept at around 4:30 AM. That's the latest I've ever slept without playing video games! xD

ISML 2010 Amethyst Period, Round 7 - Results

And the winner is...

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!

Get ready...

There we have it folks. So far we have...
  • Aquamarine - Akiyama Mio
  • Topaz -Aisaka Taiga
  • Amethyst - Nagato Yuki
Now left with a perfect record are Mio and Hinagiku. Mio beat Shana by ~150 votes, Hinagiku beat Taiga by ~250 votes. Will these two terrible tyrants take their streaks to the final brackets or will their tyrannies topple under all the pressure?

4 more necklaces remain. Who will outshine the competition and claim one as their own? Will Shana and Hinagiku collect or will they succeed without holding one of these beloved trinkets? We'll find out soon enough.

Damn, I'm graduating?!

This post is about 2 weeks late, but hey, can't be on time for everything, but I do try.

Well, May 1st was closing night for SI's musical Cabaret. We did these little ceremonies that we do before closing night, like the passing on of the gypsy robe, which looked pretty ridiculous yet awesome at the same time. But the one thing that hit me hard was the ceremony of seniors passing from the production to the audience.

So what happened was that every student there who was a senior (including me) had their name called, and a Junior in the production would give said senior who was called a rose. Then the senior walked off the stage into the seats where the audience would be. When I was called, with the accidental pronunciation of Oilman instead of Oliman, I got my rose and headed down to the seats. Here I thought, "Alright, this is part of the ceremonies, nothing too big."

Boy was I wrong.

When I was in the audience looking at the rest of my friends, my family there on stage, life punched me right in the face; I'm leaving SI, where I've spent the last 4 years making monumental memories, and this was one of the last activities I would do here in my high school career. This was the point where my eyes started to tear and where I started to think "I don't want to leave! T~T" Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors flooded down to the seniors giving us hugs and saying stuff like "I'm gonna miss you!" That would make a grown man cry, and hell, I saw guys there that I thought couldn't cry cry.

But as always happens in life, all good things must come to and end. I'm happy for all the memories I've made at my school, and if I was given the opportunity to do it all again, I wouldn't take it. I wouldn't have done my 4 years any other way. Thanks SI class of 2010. And in the famous words of Frank Sinatra...

I did it my way. Good day to you reader.

ISML 2010 Amethyst Period — Round 7

I can't predict this period of who the winner is, but I'll be happy as to whoever wins, so long as it is NOT Mio. Shana vs Mio is going to be one of the match ups that make or break who wins this necklace, along with Taiga vs Hinagiku and Saber vs Yuki. I did quite a few abstains, but I've come close to the point of knowing who to vote for and who to bump into the Top 16 for the end of the season.

ISML 2010 Amethyst Period — Round 6

I have no idea how I voted today. I'm just bored out of my mind because since I finished AP testing like 2 days ago, I've had nothing to do in classes. Like no homework. I'm actually sad I have nothing to do. I partly blame it on the fact that I have a 5 year old computer so I can't play any of the good/new games that are out, but eh, I gotta live with it until I get a new laptop or computer.

ISML 2010 Amethyst Period — Round 5

Not much to say. Exhibition match was easy to pick, I really went Tsunderes, against popular votes, then whoever I liked, in that order in terms of who to pick. I might have missed gone against what I just said above on a few votes, but I know why I'm voting the way I am, so shush you! BEGONE. =P

ISML 2010 Amethyst Period — Round 4

Too lazy to describe match ups, not really anything to talk about. Maybe the one match up I might have had trouble with was Nagi vs Mafuyu. Went to Mafuyu by coin flip. After looking over brackets again, I should've done Nagi. Need to continue support of the tsunderes! I didn't vote for Nagi or Louise, oops! ^_^;

From the featured match ups, I'm glad to see one of the Saki girls will win a match today. Also this may be the day where Shana breaks Haruhi's win streak of 68 wins, meaning all Shana needs is a Tiara this season to pretty show she's the strongest. Yeah, I said it, Cirno's got NOTHING in Shana. Tsunderes all the way. Speaking of Tsunderes, Taiga's up against Fate, and on past history, Fate has defeated her both times that they've met; will Taiga ruin this trend and continue on with a 14-1 record, or will she suffer defeat for the third time in a row?

That's all from me for today in terms of the ISML. Real life post in a few... (minutes? hours? days?)

Normal post, yeah!

So, Topaz round is over... got my prediction correct that my queen would win... Amethyst round starts next week... all is well... in the virtual world at least. Real life is a different story.

Right now, I'm listening to Meltdown by Rin Kagamine, drinking a weird Sierra Mist with cranberry splash. It's masking the diet taste soooo well, it's pretty weird. And I have an ankle brace thing on my... well, ankle obviously. Messed it up pretty bad playing handball with my friends, but man that was a crazy save! If my ankle didn't get messed up I could have returned the ball but the pain was a bit unbearable at the time so I had to give up the shot. I have to say though, handball is quite the workout, especially if you play the way I do. Hard to explain, better if you watch me play.

Academics-wise, everything's okay I suppose. For my AP computer science class and AP calculus class, we're taking our final exams already. This pretty much makes up my grade, which really sucks. I bombed one part of my final exam in calculus, and if I don't make up for it with the multiple choice tomorrow, my grade's screwed in at a B+/B. Good bye A's in math for all four years. =[

Computer science is totally different. Our exam is what a lot of peoples' grades are riding on, because we have these awesome things called floors. If we get anything from 3.0 to 3.4 on any part of the exam, it will get floored at a 3.0, which is a B. We can only go higher from there, which is the awesome part! If we get a 3.5 to 3.9, we floor at a 3.5, which is I think an A-, but I don't see myself getting anything higher than a 3.4 on any part on my exam. But if I do floor some units, I can pull my grade up, which is going to be awesome. There's one more part that I may be overlooking, but hopefully doesn't mess me up too bad.

Phew that was a long post about my life, and that's only like... close to 3 hours worth of school time, haha. That's not even including what I've had to do for about the past month or so, and that in itself is draining. But I'll save that for another post. Why the hell does this soda not taste like usual diet sodas? Puzzling...

ISML 2010 Topaz Period, Round 7 - Results (and some of my life stuff)

OH HOW I LOVE A GOOD PREDICTION. YES! I knew Mikoto wasn't going to get it. Never doubted Taiga for a second! She's so loveable! Why wouldn't you love her?!

So the image to the left is NOT mine. It's from the official site. But O-M-G it's sooooo pretty. Haha, sorry, totally fanboying right now, not very cool. But I'm just so happy that I was able to predict this and actually get it right! Now I can definitely see her come back next year. Who knows; maybe she'll get another necklace?

Congrats to my loverly winner~

As for the other matches...

Hinagiku vs Mikoto
HAH MIKOTO. IN YOUR FACE. Your undefeated streak ends here. Hinagiku barely edges Mikoto with around 200 vote lead, which is still pretty close, but not as close as...

Tomoyo vs Azusa
This match up was waaaay too close for comfort. Tomoyo barely won by... less than 20 votes! That's CRAZY CLOSE. Another close match was Rin vs Mafuyu, with Rin winning by about 100 votes.

Matches I'm sad about...

Saber vs Mio
Fate vs Yui
Mikuru vs Chizuru

Life stuff - I found out today that I got an A range grade on my anatomy test. All I have to do if hopefully get a good grade on the pamphlet project we just did, and if my grade is close enough to an A- or is in the A range, I don't have to take the anatomy final! Yeah! I can see me taking a final in american government though. I hate history with a passion, despite the fact that we need history or pretty much we're screwed.

Well that's it for now. I shouldn't really be posting because it is currently 3:07 AM as I finish up this post. I gotta salvage some sleep before I head off to more exams tomorrow. Joy. -_-

Seeyas~

PROM?! It may be a bit overhyped.

Yep, I said it. It's a bit overhyped. I was going crazy because the girl I wanted to ask to the prom got asked by another dude before I could, and that was sort of my only option... Luckily I was able to ask my other friend who I am already taking to her prom.

But yeah, I was stressing so bad because I actually wanted to go with her... I was slow the draw I guess, pretty bad. I'd go with "I have horrible luck" (which I do), but I know if I asked her she would have said yes, so it's not horrible luck, just me taking too long. After I found out, I just started to panic, go crazy, got kind of sad because I didn't have a backup, so I went to talk to some friends. Most of them just comforted me, said some form of "I'm sorry," but there was one guy who said some very deep things to me that actually made me think of what prom actually was.

[00:34] Chensaw: Kyle
[00:35] Chensaw: im not sure of the reason why im telling you this
[00:35] Chensaw: but the point im trying to make is
[00:36] Chensaw: Prom doesnt really matter as far as who you go with
[00:36] Chensaw: what prom is
[00:36] Chensaw: is a celebration of your 4 years of high school

Yeah I chat late, so what. I normally stay up past midnight now, bad habit of mine. But yeah, his alias is Chensaw; I don't know his real name, I know he lives in Florida, but I trust him so far as to let him know my real name and to discuss things like these to him.

We guys stress out so much trying to figure out who to ask to prom and in what extravagant way we can ask out (hopefully) partner. Some ask very simply like asking the question straight up, others decide to try to do something and go all-out. Personally, I like the simple, but I digress. We stress out if the person we want to go with gets taken. But after this little conversation I had with Chen, it opened my eyes.

It really doesn't matter who we go with. When prom comes close, everyone asks "Who're you going to ask?" or "Who are you going with?" That's all people ask about prom, aside from "What dress are you going to wear?/What are you wearing to prom?" Prom was meant to be something special - it doesn't matter if you go to prom with someone or not, it doesn't matter if you got rejected when you asked, what matters is that you enjoy prom. You're going with someone? Great for you, hope you two have a fun time. Going alone? You're awesome for coming, even if it's not with anyone. Hell, go with your friends! Prom's about enjoying yourself, and as Chen said, it's "a celebration of your 4 years at high school." After reading that, I became well relaxed, start to stress less about who to ask because he was right.

That's my thoughts for this week. Going solo, going as a couple, going with friends, it doesn't matter as long as you celebrate. In the words of the famous Black Eyed Peas, "Just live it up."

ISML 2010 Topaz Period — Round 6 Results

As of now, the current undefeated candidates, and possible winners, of the Topaz round are as follows...

  1. Misaka Mikoto
  2. Katsura Hinagiku
  3. Aisaka Taiga
  4. Shana
  5. Nagato Yuki
  6. Saber
  7. Akiyama Mio (Die, you already got the Aquamarine one... =_=
Undoubtedly, some of these fine ladies will be paired up against each other forcing them to receive a loss. In my opinion, Mio should go up against either Hinagiku or Shana to make it impossible for one of them to keep a spotless record so far in the regular season; I'd be happy if she went up against Mikoto for Pete's sake! Anything to prevent Mio from getting a second necklace. I'll be fine if she makes it into the final brackets, but blah, Mio for multiple necklaces should NOT happen.

My prediction? Aisaka Taiga. She can lunge for the necklace from third seed, so long as she doesn't go up against Hinagiku, Shana or Mikoto. If she does, then there's a second loss to add to her tallies. But hey, if not the necklace, I can see Taiga making the final bracket. That'll make me happy.

ISML 2010 Topaz Period — Round 4

Omg yay more votes. The exhibition match was oh so hard to pick, but I had to give it to miss tsundere. There were some match ups that I could see being kind of close, like Nadeko vs Mikoto and Shana vs Konata, and some that were going to be straight up massacre, like Saten vs Nagisa and all match ups against the Saki characters. For the matches I knew that were going to be massacre, I voted against the one who would win. Ooo the feeling of denying votes. It's exhilirating, no?

My votes, yay! Didn't really find any interesting match ups here. I did like the exhibition match though. One that I definitely had a vote for. D.N.Angel is AWESOME. =D

ISML League updates

Sooo... Topaz Round 1 started today, and I totally forgot to post up my votes. Sadly, I lost the page and the code so I can't really post it up.

The Aquamarine necklace went to Mio. Ew. Straight up ew. Like "yucky ew I didn't want K-ON! to win" ew. The undefeated remaining are Mio (more ew), Shana, and Hinagiku, but I'm pretty sure that will change this round.

Shana vs Haruhi matchup seems to have a lot of history according to the featured match up on the ISML front page. Might this be where Shana may have her first loss of the regular season?

...I got nothing else to add for today. I'm lazy, this is my last day of spring break, I'm feeling lazy, I need to finish my homework... did I mention I'm lazy?

ISML 2010 Aquamarine Period — Round 6

Yet moe laziness, and I'm kind of rush posting this because I want to get to looking for more Pandora Hearts wallpapers. (Alice and Echo ♥) Anyways, I'm on spring break, hooray! Luckily there is no voting from Wednesday to Saturday, and I'm out of town with some friends, so there's a win-win! Here's a few interesting match ups.

Yuki vs C.C.
Personally, I believe this is a no contest, with Yuki winning. There are, however, C.C. supporters, and I do like them both, but I didn't really have a hard time voting in this match up. I wouldn't be surprised for an upset though, because it COULD happen.

Nagisa vs Mikoto
Mikoto meets up with a veteran of the ISML, and this could be one of her toughest match ups yet. Nagisa is very popular, but Mikoto is UNDEFEATED in her first season, so this doesn't look so good for this frail young woman. Mikoto has kept her 1st seed place for around 3 rounds now; will Nagisa be the person to dethrone her from 1st place?

Fate vs Ryo
Ever since the first round with a savage loss to Shana, Fate has slowly been climbing the rankings with win after win, only losing to Haruhi in Round 4. Ryo, on the other hand, has been on a losing streak ever since her win in Round 1. Can Ryo make a possible comeback and stop Fate from taking a seat in the Core 16?

Taiga vs Chizuru
UGH. I had a hard time picking who to vote for. I love Taiga because she's cute, tsundere (which I find adorable), and compact (inside joke sorry ^_^'); I love Chizuru because she's kinda hot and I do love her cold attitude sometimes, and she feeds the little president (who makes cute noises when she chews)! This was just interesting because I had a hard time with who to vote for, but eh, gotta keep one of my favorite tsunderes in the Core 16. Plus, she's undefeated.

Nanoha vs Saber
The White Devil vs the Heroic Spirit. This was yet another one I had trouble voting with. Currently, Saber is undefeated as well, but this MAY be the match up in which she gets her first loss of the regular season. Nanoha has had a rough regular season, and it's just started, but this doesn't mean that either of these girls can't get the Heavenly Tiara.

Here are my votes:

ARENA 01: Saginomiya Isumi [Kushieda Minori]

ARENA 02: Katsura Hinagiku [Maria]

ARENA 03: [Nagato Yuki] C.C.

ARENA 04: [Ichinose Kotomi] Akiyama Mio

ISML 2010 Aquamarine Period — Round 5

Once again, I am feeling very lazy, and I'm doing this post instead of studying for my calculus test tomorrow! It's a very good feeling, you should try it sometime! I believe that the current undefeateds will remain undefeated, with the only match up I doubt being Saber vs Fuko. I'm pretty sure that will be close. ISML 2010 Aquamarine Period — Round 4

The top 25 are looking pretty good. Mikoto is doing very well for her first ISML season and she's kept the 1st seed for two rounds already! Will she keep it a third time? She goes up against Konata this round, who is currently 12th seed. Mikoto seems to be getting a lot of votes for, and little votes against, which is a good thing. Other undefeated gals include Taiga, Yuki, Nadeko, Mio, Saber, Azusa, Shana, Hinagiku, and Kyo. Hinagiku still keeping her head up high, despite being the 9th place seed after Shana, who topped her in prelims. Shana, however, seems to get more votes for her than against her (a whopping +6697 difference compared to Hinagiku's +4279 difference), but that COULD be because of the easy pickings that she was match up with (I still think the Shana vs Fate match up was such a bad starter for Fate >_<). Anyways, a bit lazy to finish up this supposedly informative paragraph, and I have quite a bit of psychology homework so I'll post up my votes and call it a night.

I'll get to posting things OTHER than the ISML... whenever I feel like it. This is my procrastination, but you can help me do that for you as well! d(^_^)b

ISML 2010 Aquamarine Period — Round 3

Yes folks, I did it. I ABSTAINED on some match ups. Go cry me a river. I know why I did it for Mio vs Ui (Down with K-ON!). For the other match ups... I really had no idea who to vote for, and I have some faves for this necklace so why not stop my non-faves from getting points? I'm devilish like that. Too lazy to write descriptions, but the exhibition was one that I could actually vote for!

ISML 2010 Aquamarine Period, Round 2 - Results

These... were... AMAZING match ups. Some of the match ups were just plain obliteration, very much expected winners; some were VERY close, and I must commend the characters for being popular/appealing to the voters. Here are some matches that I deem noteworthy:

Misaka Mikoto vs Saten Ruiko
Mikoto kicked some butt this round! Tripling her opponent's votes is a tall feat, and the 3494 votes she received bumped her up to 1st place this week! We may see her do well on her premiere season!

Aisaka Taiga vs Louise Valliere
Speaking of kicking butt, Taiga did too! She doubled Louise's votes, effectively pushing Taiga to SECOND PLACE. That is something, but wait until you see...

Fate Testarossa vs Kawashima Ami
Fate did awesome this round. After a rough defeat against Shana in the first round that left her in last place, Fate came back with 2927 to 2156, a nice 800 vote cushion. This win gave Fate the Place Jump of the Round award, pushing her 29 places into 21st place.

Takamachi Nanoha vs Fujibayashi Ryo
This was a very close match. I was rooting for Nanoha in particular, but both girls are very popular. The White Devil wins by around 300 votes, bumping her 12 spots to 23rd place, dropping Ryo from 4th place to 32nd place.

Koniji no Yami vs Katsura Hinagiku
The current wearer of the Heavenly Tiara showed why she won the title this round against her opponent, doubling Yami's votes 3369 to 1545. Hinagiku keeps her 8th place spot with this win.

Other noteworthy match ups that I'm too lazy to type a short description about include:

  • Hirasawa Yui (2412) vs Sengoku Nadeko (2677) [Close match up!]
  • Holo (2479) vs Nakano Azusa (2623) [Another close match up]
  • Sunohara Mei (1498) vs Shana (3701) [Shana won but dropped down to 6th place =O]
One thing to remember, it is just second round. Anything can happen with 5 more rounds left. I'll see you for ROUND 3!

ISML 2010 Aquamarine Period — Round 2

The first round is now over, and in the core for the Aquamarine necklace is as follows:

  1. Shana (Shana) [Fated to win? We shall see!]
  2. Ui (K-ON!) [Uh, how?]
  3. Ilya (Fate/Stay Night) [Yay~!]
  4. Ryou (CLANNAD) [Twas expected of the twins...]
  5. Kyou (CLANNAD)
  6. Mio (K-ON!) [Eh, she's popular...]
  7. Mikoto (Railgun)
  8. Hinagiku (Hayate no Gotoku) [Comeback? We'll see.]
  9. Azusa (K-ON!) [The nyan is too much...]
  10. Taiga (Toradora) [The tsundere is doing well!]
  11. Yuki (Haruhi) [A bit lacking, but still up there.]
  12. Minori (Toradora)
  13. Ruiko (Railgun) [Wish she were higher up.]
  14. Nadeko (Bakemono) [Doing better than Hitagi.]
  15. Mikuru (Haruhi) [Will it last?]
  16. Kurimu (Seitokai no Ichizon) [The cute president will go places, just watch.]
The last of the current uupper half include:
  • Fuuko (CLANNAD)
  • Holo (Spice and Wolf)
  • Rin (Fate/Stay Night)
  • Konata(Lucky Star) [GAG...]
  • Yui (K-ON!) [How? She doesn't have the appeal of the others!]
  • Louise (Zero no Tsukaima)
  • Ami (Toradora)
  • Saber (Fate/Stay Night) [She could be higher!]
  • Nymph (Sora no Otoshimono) [Doing better than her counterpart Ikaros.]
Changed my voting policy now. As much as I'd like to support my favorite anime like Saki, some of the more popular ones are kicking too much butt and a few candidates could use some votes to get closer to the necklace. I still refuse to vote for K-ON! unless I am forced to vote for them, but hey, I'm denying them votes and valuable points towards the Aquamarine necklace. But this is just the start; ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN FOLKS. Upsets are ALWAYS EXPECTED.

ISML 2010 Aquamarine Period - Round 1

Hello there again. For those who care, ISML has launched their first round of the Aquamarine Period! It's just the first round and there's already a few hard match ups, the first being...

Shana vs Fate Testarossa
I had trouble with this match up, considering they're both two very popular girls and I do like them both... Shana has an awesome regular season record but Fate has had the Tiara before; the question now is will Shana's success continue in this year's ISML or will Fate receive her second Tiara this year?

Sakurano Kurimu vs Takamachi Nanoha
Ah, the white devil against the recently released cute-girl-that-never-gets-anything-done (imo). Kurimu and a few of her office mates, including the Shiina twins, made it into the regular season. They want to make their name known around and the best way to start is to have their student body president win a few matches. However, the little president is up against a veteran who knows how things work, winning Saimoe in 2005. Nanoha's back to possibly retrieve the Aquamarine necklace from the current holder of the necklace, Sakagami Tomoyo, who she lost to in the previous season's Aquamarine Period, leaving the necklace far out of reach.

Sakagami Tomoyo vs Katsura Hinagiku
Speaking of Sakagami Tomoyo, she comes in with a bunch of her schoolmates from the qualifiers, as they did in the previous season. However, Tomoyo arrives this season to defend her Aquamarine necklace, but not without resistance. Katsura Hinagiku, winner of the Tiara from last year, is back to defend her title as champion. These two have had quite a history from the last two seasons, with Tomoyo beating Hinagiku twice in 2008, while Hinagiku returns the favor in 2009. Will they meet again once more, if not multiple times?

Other brackets of interest include:
Fujibayashi Kyo (both Fujibayashi twins made it through) vs Ikaros (did VERY well in the qualifiers, could lead to some upsets)
Shiina Mafuyu vs Aisaka Taiga (only because I think both of them are cute in their own ways)
C.C. vs Hirasawa Yui (two very popular girls, I believe it could go either way)
Suzumiya Haruhi vs Saber (another set of very popular girls)
Hirasawa Ui vs Fukuji Mihoko (CLANNAD, a well known anime, vs Saki, a less well known anime; I'm interested to see how Saki does with Mihoko and Nodoka in the regular season)
Nakano Azusa vs Ichinose Kotomi (yet ANOTHER set of very popular girls)

Many K-ON!, CLANNAD, and Lucky Star candidates made it through, and in my opinion, K-ON! and Lucky Star shouldn't have had too many candidates go through. Clannad was a very good anime, but it's quite popular and has quite a few candidates as well. And as much as I like it, I'm against voting for characters that will most likely win. Here are my votes (Note: Arena 26 was an exhibition match. I did NOT know where those two came from.) :

International Saimoe League Candidates

And the final list is out! There are some interesting candidates this time around, from popular anime to some lesser ones. Fate Testarossa and Katsura Hinagiku, previous winners of the Heavenly Tiara, come back to fight for the Tiara again. Many contestants from K-ON! and Clannad made it through (Azusa, Mio, the Fujibayashi sisters, Nagisa), while some contestants were the only ones who made it from their anime, like Holo from Spice and Wolf, Konjiki no Yami from To-Love Ru, and Louise Vallière from Zero no Tsukaima. I'm actually glad a few of these lesser known characters made it from these anime and that not too many popular ones made it through. A few candidates from recently released anime from the past year made it through as well, such as those from Saki, Sora no Otoshimono, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, and Seitokai no Ichizon.

In my opinion I really want someone other than Hinagiku to win this year. It would be awesome to have someone from an anime that was released this past year to win the Tiara, but the world is pretty picky in terms of anime, mostly aiming for the really popular ones. I'm really rooting for the underdogs, as I seem to almost always root for the underdog on pretty much everything I vote for. Good luck to all candidates!

By the way, sorry if the picture is small, only one I could find, haha. ^_^"
